Dr. Keith Curry

Dr. Keith Curry, President/CEO of Compton College and Compton Community College District, is a nationally recognized leader in advancing equity and student success in higher education. Under his leadership, Compton College achieved initial accreditation status in 2017, marking a significant milestone in its development.

In this session, Dr. Curry will discuss California's groundbreaking SB1348 legislation, which establishes the nation's first official Black-Serving Institution (BSI) designation. This initiative aims to recognize and support colleges and universities committed to fostering Black student success, addressing systemic barriers that have historically impacted Black students' access to and completion of higher education.
