Dr. Tyrone Howard

Dr. Tyrone C. Howard is a professor in the UCLA School of Education & Information Studies and the Pritzker Family Endowed Chair in Education. He is Faculty Director of the UCLA Center for the Transformation of Schools and Founder of the Black Male Institute. A former classroom teacher in  Compton, his work focuses on educational equity, race, culture, and improving outcomes for historically underserved students. He is a nationally recognized scholar and former President of the American Educational Research Association.
